another rainy day

today it's raining cats and dogs here - therefore I chose this picture from Bucharest taken about one year ago. In the background you can see the Palace of the Parliament (formerly known as Casa Poporului). It's one of the largest buildings of the world. In fact the rainy weather doesn't really affect me (I'm still blocked at my parents' home with my broken feet), but some sun would be much more pleasant...

old and new

this picture was taken in the historic center of Bucharest - in top of it you can see old painted advertisements of the shop that used to be there, a "librarie" that sold anything you need for writing and drawing, school books, CDs and bags, too. I really liked this shop, but it was closed. Below these paintings are modern posters advertising concerts. (and yes, I'm still at home with two injured feet which is quite unpleasant)

One week ago I almost broke my foot on this street. TuesdayI have another appointment at the hospital to find out what was destroyed exactly (I still can't use the foot at all...)

Groapa Vacaresti

We visited this place in one of the few rain breaks. It is located quite close to the city center and was meant to become a lake once (but that didn't happen). Right now a small wilderness has developed there that reminds of the Danube Delta (with plants, rare animals etc.). Maybe one day it will be a nature reserve.

Bucuresti

I'm in Romania right now for a short holiday. That's a picture I took last winter. Right now it is impossible to take pictures because it's raining nonstop...

dog-tired II

I must confess that I took inspiration from Talon for this post (title & picture).
That's a dog I saw in the autumn in Bucharest and it looks like I feel right now. Today is the 5th day that I spend in bed sick from some virus... the fever and the cough don't seem to want to leave me :(
